Alexandre Lacazette has been dubbed ‘shameful’ by Garth Crooks for his behaviour in Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea .
Blues midfielder Jorginho was at the centre of controversy during the game after hauling down Gunners star Lucas Torreira when he had already been booked.
The foul was awarded but Jorginho was not given a second yellow card and sent off, much to the chagrin of the Arsenal players.
Things then got even worse, with the Italian going on to net Chelsea ’s equaliser as they began a sensational comeback which was capped off when Tammy Abraham scored the winner in the 87th minute.
Among those who were the most outraged at the referee’s decision not to send Jorginho off was Lacazette and pundit Crooks has slammed the Frenchman’s behaviour.
Writing in his BBC Sport team of the week column , Crooks named Jorginho as part of the XI, saying: “The debate will centre around whether Jorginho should have remained on the pitch after he appeared to pull the shirt of Lucas Torreira which could have resulted in a second yellow card.
Jorginho went on to score the equaliser and spark Chelsea’s comeback
“Referee Craig Pawson refused to send Jorginho off and gave a free-kick, much to the annoyance of Alexandre Lacazette.
“To see a player trying to get another professional sent off is a shameful spectacle and Pawson did well to book the Arsenal player for getting involved.
“Jorginho went on to dominate the midfield and score the goal that was the turning point in the game.”
