Jorginho says Chelsea ‘s youthful squad need to toughen up after a “soft” performance in the first half at Arsenal .
The Blues midfielder was thrown into the fray on Sunday in the 34th minute after a slow start at the Emirates Stadium.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had fired Arsenal into an early lead and the hosts were well on top, which prompted Frank Lampard to make the tactical switch.
It proved an inspired change as the momentum soon swung in Chelsea’s favour before an end-of-game smash-and-grab.
Jorginho tapped home the equaliser in the 83rd minute after a Bernd Leno blunder before Tammy Abraham won the game moments later.
Despite leaving north London with all three points, Jorginho has warned his team-mates they did not battle hard enough at the start of the game.
“We were a bit soft at the beginning and were not fighting enough,” he said. “We needed to change that mindset.
“Sometimes you go on the pitch and are not right but it’s difficult to change that in the middle of a match. Maybe we need to be more prepared. Every player has to take responsibility. Youth is no excuse.

“We got the result we deserved because of how much we worked.”
Chelsea are fourth in the Premier League table on 35 points but their position could be so much better if their home form was better.
The Blues have lost at Stamford Bridge to Bournemouth, West Ham and Southampton this season.

They have been better on the road and will hope to pick up three more points against Brighton on New Year’s Day.
Jorginho added: “Maybe it’s easier to be playing away because you automatically have to fight.
“Sometimes at home you are a bit soft and that has to change.”
