Chelsea are London’s top team in the Premier League heading into the new decade.
This was confirmed following Tottenham Hotspur’s failure to beat Norwich City on Saturday evening and then rubber-stamped with a 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium less than 24 hours later.
It also means that Frank Lampard’s side have a four-point lead over fifth-placed Manchester United and can possibly begin to look at trying to catch Manchester City, who are only three points clear in third.
The Blues don’t have long to wait for the next game as they’re back in Premier League action against a Brighton and Hove Albion side that has also beaten Spurs and Arsenal this season.
Having lost against the likes of Everton, West Ham United, Bournemouth and Southampton last month, it’s key that Lampard’s side avoid dropping more points against teams below them in the table.
There will be plenty of build up to the clash and with that said, here’s all the news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.
