Frank Lampard provides truth on Wilfried Zaha transfer links in January update

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha in January but Frank Lampard has claimed the forward is ‘not our plans’.

The Blues are in need of some attacking recruits in January and Zaha has been repeatedly mooted as a potential signing.

The Ivory Coast international has made no secret of his desire to play for a club in the Champions League and Chelsea certainly fit the bill in that regard.

However, Lampard appears to have poured cold water on the speculation when asked about the player following his side’s 1-1 draw with Brighton .

“I wouldn’t talk about Zaha,” he said. “It’s not something I’ve considered. I won’t talk about him because he’s not our plans.

“If we have to do business we will do it behind closed doors aside to announcing who I want to bring.”

However, the failure to beat Brighton has led to fans calling on the club to make signings and Lampard has acknowledged the club need to improve.
