Chelsea are reportedly eyeing CSKA Moscow striker Fyodor Chalov in the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old Russia international scored 15 goals last year for CSKA and has six so far this season.
He is highly-rated in the Russia league and Chelsea have a good relationship with CSKA through Roman Abramovich.
Blues boss Frank Lampard has made it clear that bringing in another forward player is a priority for him in January.
The club had their transfer ban lifted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport earlier this year and will be able to make signings over the coming weeks.
Since taking over from Maurizio Sarri, Lampard has been unable to sign any players because of the restriction.
But the emergence of several of the club’s young players has been a major boost for the new boss.
The likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, and Fikayo Tomori, have helped the Blues into fourth place in the Premier League and into the Champions League last-16.
CSKA Moscow striker Fyodor Chalov is wanted by Chelsea
Abraham has bagged 12 goals in 19 Premier League games, leaving Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud fighting for playing time.
French World Cup winner Giroud sees his contract expire soon anyway and is being tipped to leave Stamford Bridge in January with West Ham and Crystal Palace interested.
This would leave space for another striker and, according to the Daily Express, Chalov could be the man for the job.
Chelsea have also made inquiries with RB Leipzig for Germany striker Timo Werner, and have offered Giroud plus cash for Lyon forward Moussa Dembele.
