Chelsea once again struggled to make an impact at the top end of the pitch against Brighton & Hove Albion on New Year’s Day.

The Blues were forced to settle for a point from their trip to the south coast despite leading through Cesar Azpilicueta’s first half strike.

They had to share the spoils after Alireza Jahanbakhsh scored a stunning overhead kick six minutes from time.

Chelsea had more possession at the Amex and had 16 shots during the match, but only five were on target.

It is becoming a bit of an issue for head coach Frank Lampard and there is little surprise that the Blues are being linked with a number of strikers in the January transfer window.

Timo Werner

RB Leipzig striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League on a number of occasions in the past.

Liverpool have previously been interested in the German who is now attracting interest from both Chelsea and Manchester United.

the 23-year-old has 23 goals in 25 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season and would be available for a fee of around £51million.

Reports are that Chelsea re keeping tabs on his Leipzig situation.
