Chelsea target Moussa Dembele may prefer to join Manchester United in January, according to transfer expert Ian McGarry.
The Blues are believed to be weighing up their options to sign the Lyon forward at some point this month.
It is being reported that the club are willing to offer fellow Frenchman Olivier Giroud as part of any deal.
Frank Lampard , who is yet to sign any players as manager of his former club, has been buoyed by the news that Chelsea’s transfer ban has been lifted in time for the upcoming window.
But McGarry insists that United also have an interest in Dembele as they look to boost their striking options.
He reports that the Old Trafford club have previously scouted the former Celtic star and says that the 23-year-old would suit the Red Devils’ style of play and would be guaranteed first team football.
However, he says the lure of Champions League football at Chelsea could also sway his decision.
“In terms of Dembele, yes Manchester United have scouted him, there’s no doubt there will be interest,” McGarry said on the Transfer Window Podcast.
