Lyon turn down opening bid for Dembele
Lyon have turned down Chelsea’s opening bid of €40m for striker Moussa Dembele, according to reports.
With Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi set to leave in the January window, Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a new frontman to battle it out with Tammy Abraham.
He’s reportedly been knocked back in his bid to sign Dembele though, with Lyon turning down their initial offer , although the French side expect the Blues to return with another bid.
Should a deal go through, Demebele’s former club Celtic will earn 10 per cent of any transfer fee due to a clause put in his contract upon his move to Ligue 1.
Championship duo join race for young midfielder
West Brom and Swansea have joined Burnley in the race to sign young Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher this month.
The 19-year-old is expected to cut short his time on loan with Charlton Athletic and make his return to Stamford Bridge.
Burnley are thought to be the frontrunners to secure Gallagher’s services, with the Clarets targeting a creative midfielder, with Danny Drinkwater a target for Aston Villa this month.
