What Dani Olmo has said about his future as Chelsea make ‘firm offer’ for first January transfer

Chelsea are getting down to business with the January transfer window now being open.

That’s according to reports in Spain – via Sport Witness – who claim the Blues have made a ‘firm offer’ for Dinamo Zagreb wonderkid Dani Olmo who is also attracting interest from other top clubs across Europe.

The report states that whilst there is no details in terms of the offer which has been made, Dinamo Zagreb want more than €40m (£33.8m) in order to sell their prized asset.

In addition, La Liga giants Barcelona are also said to be interested and are set to respond to Chelsea’s movement by making an offer earlier than expected.

If the Blues are able to win the race for Olmo’s signature then they would be getting a player who has been in superb form this season.

He’s scored eight goals and weighed in with seven assists in 22 appearances across all competitions, with his contributions early on helping the team reach the Champions League group stage.

Olmo also netted in a 4-1 home loss at the hands of Manchester City.

Such impressive form earned him a senior debut for the Spain national team in November and he could be in contention to make Luis Enrique’s squad for this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament.

But could he be a Chelsea player by then?

Amid speculation surrounding his future in the summer, Olmo was reluctant to give much away amid links to Manchester United as well as Tottenham Hotspur.

Although he did insist that game time is one of the most important aspects of any move for him.
