Frank Lampard’s men may be happy for a break from league football as they prepare to take on Championship side Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup.

The midlands side will travel to Stamford Bridge looking to cause an upset , with Chelsea aiming to make it to the fourth round of the competition.

Moussa Dembele bid ‘rejected’

Reports on Thursday evening claim that Chelsea had had a bid of £34 million rejected for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, prompting the Frenchman’s club to release a statement on his future.

“Olympique Lyonnais has taken note of certain information relayed by the media suggesting that Moussa Dembele could interest other clubs during this transfer window,” it read.

“OL would like to reaffirm its wish, as in the summer of 2019, to keep Moussa Dembele.

“The club has full confidence in Moussa and counts in particular on him to build a successful team for the seasons to come.”
