Chelsea are making a beeline for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele in the January transfer window – meaning Celtic could be set to pocket around £4m.
Frank Lampard is looking to bolster his attacking ranks this month, with outcasted strikers Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi seeking moves away from Stamford Bridge.
When Tammy Abraham hasn’t been firing on all cylinders upfront, neither man has proven a suitable replacement for the 22-year-old.
Starsport understands Chelsea have already seen a £35m bid rejected for Dembele, who has bagged 30 goals in 71 appearances for Lyon since joining from Celtic in the summer of 2018.
The Blues are expected to launch another offer that includes Giroud heading in the opposite direction as well as more cash, which spells good news for Celtic.
When they offloaded Dembele to France in 2018, the Hoops pocketed £19.8m for their star striker – but they also inserted a sell-on clause believed to be more than 10 per cent of any future sale.

“Olympique Lyonnais has taken note of certain information relayed by the media suggesting that Moussa Dembele could interest other clubs during this transfer window,” an official statement read.
