Jadon Sancho has been told to seriously consider snubbing Chelsea because of their attacking options at the club already.
The 19-year-old is top of the wish-list at Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard aims to splash out for the first time after being appointed Blues boss.
Borussia Dortmund whizkid Sancho is the one that has got the supporters talking but Chelsea face a difficult bid to convince him to join them.
As well as the Blues, a whole host of clubs are interested in the Englishman – including Liverpool , Manchester United , Barcelona and Paris St-Germain.
Bayern Munich are the latest club to register an interest as they plot another raid on their Bundesliga rivals.
But ex-Reds defender Steve Nicol has advised Sancho to think twice before moving to Stamford Bridge because of the likes of Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mason Mount.
“Listen, the fact that Jadon Sancho might leave Dortmund I think is a huge possibility,” he told ESPN FC.
“I just can’t figure out why it would be Chelsea. You’ve got Pulisic, you’ve got Hudson-Odoi there, you’ve got Mason Mount – why are you bringing this guy in? It makes no sense.
Frank Lampard can splash the cash at Chelsea this January transfer window
“If I’m Jadon Sancho and I’m looking at Chelsea, I’m asking myself one question: ‘Am I going to go to Chelsea and start?’.
“So, he isn’t leaving a place where he is playing to go somewhere and try and fight for his spot.
“Now, not that there is anything wrong with fighting for a spot, but do you choose a place where there’s a possibility you’re not playing?

“That makes no sense whatsoever. Sancho’s not a long-term guy now – he needs to play.”
Lampard has been given funds to spend in January after a FIFA ban on transfers was overturned.
The likes of Nathan Ake, Moussa Dembele and Timo Werner have been linked with a move to west London.
