Chelsea have suffered a dip in their consistency of results during the past month and that has increased the need for Frank Lampard to strengthen his side in the January transfer window.
The Blues were unable to complete business in the summer due to a FIFA-imposed transfer ban but those restrictions have been lifted for 2020, handing Lampard his first opportunity to sign players in the mid-season market.
There is money to spend following the sale of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid in the summer and plenty of household names have already been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Sancho and Werner blow
Chelsea will reportedly have to wait until the summer if they want to sign either Jadon Sancho or Timo Werner.
Sancho is said to be the Blues’ top priority, but Dortmund want to hold onto him until at least the end of the season. Meanwhile, Werner is hopeful of winning the Bundesliga, with RB Leipzig top of the table halfway through the season.
Goal state that Werner has a release clause in his contract which would also mean he was available at a lower price in the summer than in January.

However, the Germany international will not consider an exit until the summer as he focuses his attention on Germany’s campaign at the European Championships.
Real Madrid eye Werner
Sticking with Timo Werner, Real Madrid are reportedly lining up a swap deal to sign the RB Leipzig striker.
According to El Desmarque (via the Star ), the Spanish giants are thinking of making a move for the Chelsea target, and could include Luka Jovic in a deal to sign the Bundesliga star.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be an admirer of Werner, and is willing to allow Jovic to leave the Bernabeu despite only completing a £51m move to La Liga from Eintracht Frankfurt in…
