Frank Lampard has insisted there is even more to come from Callum Hudson-Odoi after his starring display for Chelsea in the FA Cup third round win.
The 19-year-old scored the opening goal and produced the second in a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
Having returned from an Achilles’ tendon rupture in September, the winger has been in and out of the side and struggled for consistency in his play.
However, the FA Cup win showed that he has the ability to kick on once again, if given the chance.
And Lampard believes there is more to come from the youngster as he continues to get stronger and stronger.
“It was a good performance and pleased to see him high up the pitch, pleased to see him being aggressive in how he gets at people which is what he is there for. He gets his goal with a great strike.
“It’s been an interesting twelve months for him considering how young he is, when you take that into account. Last year everyone was talking about him for different reasons. He gets a terrible injury, he comes back very early and when he did come back there were issues getting him tip top.
“In terms of the injury it had been. Then he is in the spotlight because of who he is and the new contract. It was a nice step forward for him today. Next time it will be can you do more, can you do this, can you do that?
