Chelsea player ratings: Callum Hudson-Odoi superb but Michy Batshuayi struggles in FA Cup win

Willy Caballero

Nothing to do in the first half. A couple of nice, quick passes out to get Chelsea on the break.

Had one shot to deal with in the second half, but it was straight at him and the Argentine was able to deal with it. 6

Reece James

His crossing was superb in the first half, with Michy Batshuayi not doing enough to get it on target. Some strong defending as well, with another bit of sublime skill.

Wasn’t quite as adventurous in the second half. Holding his position more and defending well when he needed to. 8

Fikayo Tomori

Lucky with the penalty that was overturned by VAR. Apart from that, solid in the role and looked comfortable in the first half.

In the second half he was an excellent presence at the back, showing great moments on strength and speed. Good positioning as well. 7

Andreas Christensen

Very secure in the first half, coming out of the defence to win tackles well. Didn’t have much of an issue in the opening 45 minutes.

In the second half he was excellent as well, making sure he won the ball when needed and controlled the defence. 7

Emerson Palmieri

Got forward well and linked up on the left with the forwards. A couple of dangerous corners whipped in from him as well.

However, in the second half he just didn’t do enough. Got into some good positions, but really didn’t make use of them at all. 5

Mateo Kovacic

A comfortable first half for the Croatian. Just lacked some tempo, though, and didn’t have too much influence in the match.

Again in the second half, it was a pretty quiet afternoon from him. Ticked along well, but without massive impact and one shot well off target. 6
