Juventus ‘contact’ Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri as January transfer possible

Juventus have reportedly ‘made contact’ with Chelsea over signing Emerson Palmieri in the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old has struggled to cement his place in the Blues side this season under new boss Frank Lampard .

He started the campaign as first choice left-back but injury ruled him out for a run of games and he has been unable to get his place back.

The Italy international is a talented defender who is liked by former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, now Juventus boss.

The Old Lady currently rotate Alex Sandro and Mattia De Sciglio in the left-back role but are looking for further reinforcements.

And according to Italian publication Calciomercato , the club have made contact with Chelsea over Palmieri.

And Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is said to be determined to orchestrate a January swoop.

The Blues paid Roma £17m plus £7.5m in add-ons for the defender in 2018 and it is unclear how much it will take to prize him away.
