Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has this evening revealed why Christian Pulisic was absent from the club’s squad that took on Nottingham Forest.
The Blues welcomed Championship outfit Forest to Stamford Bridge a short time ago, for their FA Cup opener.
Lampard’s outfit headed into proceedings in search of a bounce-back performance, on the back of a disappointing result last time out.
A meeting with Brighton during the week saw the capital giants stutter to a 1-1 draw, making it 3 straight home Premier League outings without a win.
When all was said and done at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, however, Chelsea managed to get back on track.
A dominant performance eventually saw the hosts emerge with a 2-0 victory, courtesy of first-half strikes from Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ross Barkley.

As is customary, ahead of kick-off in London, both Chelsea and Forest announced their matchday squads, with the panel opted for by Frank Lampard as follows:

Upon the Blues’ squad making its way online, though, fans quickly began to highlight the absence of one key player.
The individual in question was Christian Pulisic.
American international Pulisic was handed a start in Chelsea’s previous fixture, versus Brighton, but was hooked with a little over an hour played.
This came with the 21-year-old having struggled for consistent game-time of late.
As such, concern immediately spread amongst the Chelsea fanbase that Pulisic had simply been dropped.
Frank Lampard, though, has since moved to clarify the situation.
