Frank Lampard has clarified Olivier Giroud’s transfer situation amid interest from Newcastle and Inter Milan .
The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge this term due to Tammy Abraham’s fine form.
Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is keen to reunite with Giroud at the San Siro.
But the Telegraph report Newcastle want to sanction a short-term loan deal to aid their survival bid.
Chelsea , however, are keen to bring in a replacement for Giroud before letting him leave west London.
Though Lampard admits if the player wants to leave, they will consider letting him leave before the end of the month.
“There’s no update on Oli,” he told reporters.
“My answer remains the same as it has done recently and I have spoken with him.
“If the conditions are that it’s something Oli really wants to do and it works for the club and it works for me and the squad, then it’s something that could happen.

“But only when all three of those bases are covered. So we’re still there.”
Giroud played no part in Chelsea’s FA Cup win on Sunday, with Michy Batshuayi starting from the outset.
Lampard made significant changes to his side for the Nottingham Forest clash.
But the Premier League legend admits he’s still a fan of the competition.
“No, it hasn’t for me and it hasn’t for us,” Lampard said when asked if the magic of the cup had died.

“But I understand when managers who are in the firing line and have things they have to achieve in the Premier League and squads and situations behind the scenes that we don’t see when it’s their squad.
“Sometimes you have to prioritise things differently.
“I don’t think it has lost its sparkle but I understand managers who might see it in a different way.”
