Ex- Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas believes Callum Hudson-Odoi has a big future at the club, despite his recent lack of form.
The 19-year-old burst on to the scene while Fabregas was still at Stamford Bridge, attracting interest from German giants Bayern Munich .
However, Hudson-Odoi opted to stay with the Blues, signing a new five-year deal after the appointment of Frank Lampard as manager.
Having returned from a serious Achilles injury, the winger has made the vast majority of his appearances from the bench this season but Fabregas thinks it will not be long until he becomes a mainstay in the starting XI.
“The first time he came to train with us I knew he was different, his finishing and pace were something else for his age,” he said in a Twitter Q&A.
“He has a long way to go and just came back from a terrible injury. With time and good attitude he can become a terrific player.”
Hudson-Odoi did start Chelsea’s FA Cup third-round clash with Nottingham Forest and opened the scoring after just six minutes.

Speaking after the 2-0 win, he addressed his struggles, saying: “I have been a bit agitated.
“Thinking to myself that I have had chances and I need to convert more of them, be more clinical in front of goal, so in this game, I thought to myself, hit it low and hard.
“Recently I have been thinking ‘be patient, the goal will come if you be yourself, be calm, everything will go your way’.
