We’re so, so desperate for this to be over.
Danny Drinkwater was signed in a moment of madness during the Antonio Conte reign, and the midfielder has proved even more troublesome and even more costly than our former manager.
After coming in for big money, he’s sat on the bench for years, and only this season were we able to get him a loan – to Burnley.
Now it’s January and he’s already back, having had his loan cancelled by the Clarets. Back to square one…
Luckily it seems there’s more interest, amazingly. Sky Sports presenter Kirsty Edwards has reported that the midfielder is at Aston Villa’s training ground having a medical ahead of a new loan.

Well, it can’t go any worse than his spell in Burnley. Villa need a boost, Danny needs games. There’s no reason to not just give it a go.
Go on Danny. It’s a long way back, but it can all begin here.
