Chelsea defender Marc Guehi has agreed to join Swansea on loan, with a medical to take place tomorrow and the paperwork to be finalised subsequently.
The youngster played twice in the Carabao Cup for Frank Lampard, but after missing out on the FA Cup game against Nottingham Forest last week and with a limited number of games left in the Development Squad season left, this was always a move that looked likely.
We’ve made poor decisions for many of the loans we’ve sent young players on, and we hope this is well judged. We want our youngsters to play every week, above all, with the level of club pretty secondary to that.
Swansea, battling away in the Championship, should be perfect. They have an interesting manager doing interesting things, and have always been a progressive club looking to the future.

Let’s hope Marc gets into the team nice and early and can rack up a good number of appearances on this loan. Then he can upgrade to the top flight – and maybe our first team – in a year and a half.
