Moussa Dembele would be a “magnificent signing” for Chelsea .
That is according to former Blues striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who has branded the Lyon hotshot a “killer” in front of goal.
Frank Lampard is ready to launch an offer for Dembele to beef up his attacking options amid speculation over potential departures for Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud.
Lyon are reluctant sellers and would demand in excess of £40m for Dembele’s signature.
But Hasselbaink, who scored 88 goals in 177 appearances for Chelsea, believes he is worth stumping up the cash for.
“Chelsea need to make new signings because you have to keep the rhythm going and just to get some kind of new blood coming through the door,” Hasselbaink told the Daily Mail .
“It is always good when you make a signing. It gives everybody new energy, you know? Obviously Tammy Abraham is doing really well but he is the only one really who is doing really well. Batshuayi is not making a difference. Giroud, I think, he does not really fit in with their plans.
“They need to get a striker in. Moussa Dembele would be a magnificent signing for Chelsea.

“Having already tasted that and gone through that pressure, and if Chelsea buy him, he is familiar with that. When you are at Chelsea, you have to be able to handle the pressure of winning things and he has shown at Celtic he can do that.
