Timo Werner to Chelsea latest: Terms ‘agreed’ for alternative target, €80m bid, Lampard hint

Chelsea’s recent home form has accelerated Frank Lampard’s desire to sign attacking reinforcements in the transfer window.

The Blues were handed a two-window ban earlier in the year after breaching FIFA rules, but at the beginning of December it was confirmed that their appeal which was heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport was successful.

Now that the ban has been reduced, the west London outfit can make signings this month and one of many players being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

It could take a hefty sum to lure Werner away from RB Leipzig with the club in the Bundesliga title race and also in the round of 16 stage in the Champions League.
