Man Utd set to miss out on Spurs ace Eriksen
Manchester United could be set to miss out on Tottenham star Christian Eriksen with the north London club in talks with Inter Milan over a proposed deal, writes Dan Gibbs.
The Dane has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford with it becoming increasingly clear he is looking to leave Spurs having refused to sign a new contract.
Inter Milan have become the latest club to join the race for his signature and it seems they’re already ahead of United in their pursuit.
However, Italian journalist Nicolo Schira claims while Spurs want to offload him this month, Eriksen’s preference is to leave at the end of the season.
“Marotta has offered a contract until 2024. The player prefers leave #Tottenham at the end of the season, meanwhile #Spurs are working to sell already him in January for €20-25M.”
United have also been linked with the likes of Leicester’s James Maddison this month as they look to bolster their midfield options.
With Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba both sidelined through injury, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in need of adding quality in depth.
