Chelsea have had some very dodgy results at home this season, especially in the run before Christmas where the team suddenly lost the ability to break down opposition defences.
Some players have managed to succeed overall despite those bad results. WhoScored’s ranking system gives Marcos Alonso – who missed out on some of those bad results, an impressive 7.29 rating for his home games this season in the Premier League.
Following him is Kurt Zouma on 7.22, then Willian on 7.14.
Interestingly, on away form, Zouma is way down in 15th in the squad, with a 6.71 rating.
This is probably all an accident of the fixtures, but it’s food for thought for Frank Lampard has he picks his team for this weekend’s game.
Willian will be competing for a spot on the wing, Alonso should be fit to play on the left if necessary. Zouma will be ready to play with Antonio Rudiger or Fikayo Tomori, as Frank wishes.
Perhaps, if he looks at their home record this season, he will be tempted to start all 3?
