Moussa Dembele to Chelsea latest: Manchester United scout striker, Lyon star ‘agrees’ transfer

Chelsea are said to be in serious contention to sign Moussa Dembele in the January transfer window.

Frank Lampard finally has money to spend thanks to the Court of Arbitration for Sport reducing their two-window transfer embargo from FIFA, and now have the go-ahead to complete deals.

A number of players have already been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, including the likes of Jadon Sancho, Wilfried Zaha, Timo Werner and Nathan Ake.

And rumours linking Dembele to Chelsea are now picking up serious traction.

The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals in 18 Ligue 1 games this season, with a number of Premier League teams reportedly taking note of the former Fulham and Celtic star.

Lyon release statement

Amid the speculation surrounding their player, Lyon have made a move to send a hands-off warning to any club who may be showing an interest.

A statement released by the club read: “Olympique Lyonnais has taken note of certain information relayed by the media suggesting that Moussa Dembele could interest other clubs during this transfer window.

“OL would like to reaffirm its wish, as in the summer of 2019, to keep Moussa Dembele.

“The club has full confidence in Moussa and counts in particular on him to build a successful team for the seasons to come.”

Although, there was one previous saga where the club were confident of keeping a player, just one week before selling him.

£34 million bid ‘rejected’
