Frank Lampard is hopeful that N’Golo Kante’s latest injury setback is a ‘small thing’ but is still not certain of the extent of the problem.
The 29-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during yesterday’s training session that ruled him out of the 3-0 win over Burnley today.
The World Cup winner has struggled throughout the campaign with knocks and has started just 12 out of the 22 Premier League games this season.
Chelsea, in the end, didn’t need the Frenchman as they ran out comfortable winners with Jorginho netting a penalty and Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi netting the others.

However, Kante’s injury concerns have been a massive issue for Lampard over the course of the season, but he is hoping the latest one won’t see him out of action for too long.
“He got through training yesterday, so it was something that came up last night and we made a decision this morning,” Lampard said.
“So it was more of an awareness in the hamstring as opposed to a moment where he had to pull up.
“So that makes you hope it’s a small thing, but we’ll have to see how it goes.”
