Chelsea have completed their first January signing, and the first to be made following the end of their transfer ban, bringing in 16 year old Norwegian prodigy Bryan Fiabema.
The Tromso prodigy is just 16, and has agreed a 3 and a half year deal at Stamford Bridge. He will immediately drop into the U18s, with a view to moving him up to the development squad and then out on loan as soon as possible.
He was present yesterday in the club box as we battered Burnley 3-0 at home, and went into the changing rooms afterwards to meet his new teammates.
The Metro say the fee is around £860,000, plus a small percentage of any resale value.
It’s great to see the engine of the club, the great youth scouting setup we have, back in action. The fact that we have all these great young kids coming through should be an incentive to find more of them at a young age like Fiabema, rather than just rest of our laurels.
