Jose Mourinho gives Chelsea big Champions League boost with latest comments » Chelsea News

Jose Mourinho has said the unsayable – Harry Kane may not play again this season.

That’s terrible news for Tottenham fans and… frankly, great news for Chelsea fans. While it’s cruel to wish injuries on other teams, the fact that Kane is out now means that Spurs’ chances of making the top 4 have taken a serious battering.

Even better, it’s clearing the path for Tammy Abraham to make it to Euro 2020 as England’s first choice striker, something we would all love to see.

“News on Harry, we don’t have and if you ask me every time we come here the answer will be the same. We expect him to be out until mid-April, end of April, May, next season. I don’t know,” Mourinho said gloomily in quotes picked up by the Daily Telegraph.

Of course, the chances are that Mourinho is being as deliberately negative as possible. It makes any success he has seem better, and early return this season for Kane seem like a success.

But no matter how much he’s exaggerating, it’s clear that this injury is a serious one, and one that is going to heavily affect Spurs’ – and Chelsea’s quest to reach the top 4.
