Neil Warnock has antagonised Manchester United fans by proclaiming that legendary Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is the greatest manager in Premier League history.
The former Cardiff, Sheffield United and QPR manager was asked to rank his top five supremos in order and he left fans baffled by having Sir Alex Ferguson down in fourth place.
The Scotsman led United to an incredible 13 Premier League crowns and he has won more trophies than any other manager in the history of football.
But Warnock had Wenger at number one, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola at two, current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at three – all ahead of Ferguson, 78.
And fans were outraged at the outspoken Yorkshireman’s list, which was completed by Tottenham’sJose Mourinho, who had two spells at Chelsea.
“A man without a Champions League, a man without a win without money and a man that’s won 5 trophies in his career over Sir Alex, really?” commented one baffled football fan.
Another fan seemed more angered at the snubbing of Mourinho, tweeting: “If you have Klopp and Pep over Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho in your EPL manager of all time then you’re on crack, wake up.”
“Much respect to Wenger but I can’t see how he was better than SAF. Prove me wrong,” said an Arsenal supporter.
Anther simply replied: ” Haahaaaaa. Haahaaaaaa. No really. Haaahaaa. Haaaahaaahaaaa.”
United are looking to strengthen in midfield in the January transfer marker as they attempt to claw their way back to a top-four finish.
