Chelsea have their sights set on Real Madrid star Isco before the end of the month.
The Blues can add to their squad this month after their transfer ban was lifted in December.
Frank Lampard is looking to add attacking options to his side after the departure of Eden Hazard in the summer.
El Desmarque Madrid report Isco is a major target for Chelsea, who are said to be ‘doing everything’ to try and land the Bernabeu star before the end of January.
The 27-year-old has been out of favour under Zinedine Zidane but has impressed in recent games after being brought back into the first-team fold.
Chelsea are said to have already spoken to Isco’s agent about the possibility of a move to west London.
El Desmarque Madrid write Lampard’s men are ready to bid €55m (£47m).
Chelsea want Isco to sit in front of defensive midfielder N’Golo Kante, allowing the Frenchman to do the defensive side of the game.
Isco could be the newest arrival at Chelsea
Madrid want to keep the Spaniard in the capital, however.
President Florentino Perez likes the player and will only be persuaded by a significant offer in the summer.
Isco has returned to form of late.
But Zidane isn’t taking credit for the player’s resurgence.
“I had no role in Isco’s recovery, I’m just glad about it. He has personality and wants to play. He doesn’t shy away from responsibility,” he said.

“Today, the option was to put Isco and Modric on the inside to have more runs from the full-backs.
“It was the option for today. We can play with wingers, but we did it the other way around, with more central players and using the wings with our full-backs. It worked for us.
“We prepare really well for games, we understand them very well. We’re all together. In the end, it’s the players that play, that give everything on the pitch.”
