Chelsea are unlikely to land either Nathan Ake or Callum Wilson from Bournemouth this month.
Sky Sports say neither transfer is expected with two-and-a-half weeks of the window remaining.
The Blues have the option to exercise a £40m buyback clause in Ake’s contract.
But Frank Lampard is focusing on other defensive targets, having been linked with West Ham’s Issa Diop too.
Manchester City are keen on Dutchman Ake, who has progressed well at the Vitality Stadium since leaving Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis in 2017.
And Chelsea will no longer pursue a return for the 24-year-old, even with the clause expiring this month.
England striker Wilson, meanwhile, has not scored in the Premier League since September 28.
Chelsea looked to sign Wilson last year but are now cooling their interest on the 27-year-old too.
