Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia demands higher fee for Olivier Giroud transfer

Olivier Giroud’s potential move to Inter Milan is reportedly edging nearer, with Chelsea holding out for a fee of €7m (around £6m).

According to Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira, the two clubs are locked in talks over the Frenchman, with club director Marina Granovskaia leading negotiations for the Blues.

“Olivier Giroud is getting closer and closer to Inter,” Schira wrote on Twitter. “Talks ongoing with Chelsea to finalise the deal immediately.

“Inter have offered €5M, but Marina Granovskaia wants more (€7M). Meanwhile the french striker agreed personal terms with Inter until June 2022.”

Giroud has made just seven appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season and is said to be keen on a reunion with Inter boss Antonio Conte, the man who brought Giroud to Stamford Bridge back in January 2018.

Speaking last week, Frank Lampard admitted that the forward could be on his way out.

“With Ollie the situation is, if it’s right for everybody, and first and foremost that’s us as the club, then we’ll look at whether he can leave the club,” Lampard said.
