Moussa Dembele could yet be on his way to the Premier League as Lyon seek to add a new forward in January.
AC Milan forward Krzysztof Piatek is thought to be on the French side’s radar as the Pole considers pastures new following the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Piatek only moved to the San Siro 12 months ago from Genoa but is already facing the possibility of moving on again.
That has led to heightened speculation a move for Dembele could be on the cards with a host of top-flight clubs – including Chelsea , Manchester United and Arsenal – all linked with the Frenchman, reports Le10Sport .
The former two especially are looking to bolster their attacking options this month which has led to their interest in Dembele.
Since moving to Lyon from Celtic the 23-year-old has scored 34 goals in 74 games and is tipped to succeed in England.
Frank Lampard is looking to add a striker with Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi both potentially seeking moves away from Stamford Bridge.
That would leave the Blues short in attack with Tammy Abraham their only recognised striker.
Moussa Dembele is a target for several top Premier League clubs
A lack of options in attack is something United boss Ole Sunnar Solskjaer has had to deal with for much of the season thus far.
The Norwegian has had to deal with injuries to Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford leaving him to juggle his frontline.
Mason Greenwood’s emergence has served to strengthen his hand, but he still remains light in attack.
Solskjaer admitted earlier this year that reinforcements in attack would be his first priority having allowed both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to leave in the summer without replacing them.
