Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is reportedly eyeing a deal to bring Ryan Bertrand back to Stamford Bridge.
Lampard is keen to strengthen his options at left-back with Marcos Alonso having made just one Premier League appearance since the end of October.
Emerson Palmieri had been first choice at Chelsea though Cesar Azpilicueta is now starring in the full-back role with Reece James operating at right-back.
Blues boss Lampard is believed to have Leicester star Ben Chilwell as his ideal signing for the position.
But, with Chilwell potentially departing in the summer, Leicester are also on the hunt for a left-back.
And the Daily Mail report that both Chelsea and Leicester are eyeing a move for Southampton ace Bertrand.
Bertrand has been a regular for Southampton this season having moved to St Mary’s from Stamford Bridge permanently in 2015.
It’s expected that this potential transfer battle takes place in the summer with Chelsea currently believed to be prioritising a deal for a striker.
