Chelsea manager Frank Lampard faced up to the press today ahead of his teams match against Newcastle tomorrow in the Premier League.
As always, he was faced with questions about Chelsea’s transfer plans for this window, who will be leaving, who will be arriving, and as ever, Lampard remained coy and gave nothing away.
He was put in trouble right away though before the questions even began, and that was thanks to his club Chairman Bruce Buck.
The American was speaking before Lampard regarding the new antisemitism artwork that has been installed outside Stamford Bridge over the last week.
But Buck was asked about potential in comings at Chelsea this month at the end of his interview, just as Lampard was about to come on.
The Blues manager brushed it off as a joke, and it probably was a little tongue in cheek, but it certainly got Chelsea fans talking and thinking!
As reported by The Evening Standard, Buck said:
“Who are we signing? I do know, but I won’t be telling.”
“Cheers for that Bruce,” responded Lampard, “this press-conference has become a lot harder now.”
