West Ham defender Issa Diop insists he “doesn’t care” about rumours of interest from Chelsea and Manchester United .
The French defender has become a mainstay at the London Stadium since moving from Toulouse 18 months ago.
His form last term saw United weigh up a move in the summer before they opted to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester.
And even if the Red Devils – or Chelsea – want to revive their interest Diop is not interested in leaving the Hammers.
“I am not in negotiations, I don’t care to know which clubs are interested in me,” Diop told Foot Mercato . “So for me, nothing really changes.
“Most of the time, it is friends of mine sending me screenshots to say to me: “Issa, look…” I am not even the person who finds out first.
“Aside from that, that is the game of the transfer window, some things are true, some things are false. So honestly, I don’t pay too much attention to it.
“Honestly, I don’t really give a s*** about what is in the newspapers. I am not at all concentrated on that. It doesn’t enter my thinking at all.
Issa Diop has several admirers, but is not bothered about leaving West Ham
“I leave people who are responsible to deal with that side. I just focus on football.”
Diop has made 17 appearances in all competitions so far this term for a West Ham side that has flirted with relegation for several months.
They have shipped 43 goals in 22 games – only bottom club Norwich has a worse record – but Diop has still managed to emerge with credibility.
David Moyes has taken over from Manuel Pellergini as a result of the Hammers’ poor form and has won two of his three outings thus far.
