Frank Lampard has named one change to his starting XI for this evening’s game away to Newcastle United at St James’ Park, with N’Golo Kante returning to midfield having missed last weekend’s 3-0 win at home to Burnley through injury.
It means that Ross Barkley, who West Ham had made an enquiry about earlier this week, drops to the bench.
Chelsea’s back four remains the same with Reece James continuing at right back, a centre half partnership of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen with skipper Cesar Azpilicueta on the left.
Kante will join Jorginho and Mason Mount in midfield, while Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi will operate either side of top scorer Tammy Abraham.
There are no surprises on the bench either with Kurt Zouma and Emerson Palmieri providing defensive cover, Barkley and Mateo Kovacic adding midfield reinforcements, with Pedro and Michy Batshuayi also included as attacking reserves.
Olivier Giroud, who has held talks about a move to Internazionale, is not part of the travelling party.
Christian Pulisic will not return until next month owing to an abductor injury, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek is training with the club’s academy as he returns from the ruptured achilles sustained last May.
