Mason Mount has had a breakthrough season for both club and country for the first half of the 2019/20 campaign.
The arrival of Frank Lampard, his boss during a season-long loan spell at Derby County, at Stamford Bridge during the summer has led to the midfielder taking his first-team chance at Stamford Bridge with both hands this season.
Mount has played a part in 32 games in all competitions for the Blues, including being named in the starting lineup for Chelsea’s agonising 1-0 Premier League defeat to Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday.
He was however subbed off after 68 minutes of the game, being replaced by Ross Barkley.

The 21-year-old has also broken into the England national team, earning six full international caps since his debut in September.
He has been a regular in Gareth Southgate’s squad.
However, on watching fans have been questioning the England boss’ decision to choose the Chelsea man over Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.
There has been calls for the Villa captain to be named in the squad ahead of Euro 2020 after he has impressed in the Premier League this season. The 24-year-old has scored eight goals and provided six assists in 23 appearances in all competitions this season.

England are next back in action when they take on Italy and Denmark in international friendlies in March.
