Chelsea are ready to launch a £48m transfer bid to secure the services of Brighton defender Lewis Dunk.
The Englishman has been almost ever present for the Seagulls since helping them to promotion back in 2017 under Chris Hughton.
Dunk, 28, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the start of the window, with Star Sport understanding that a huge bid is on the way.
That offer is set to come in at an astonishing £48m, which, if accepted, would make the centre back the fourth most expensive Englishman in history.
Graham Potter spoke out about the rumours surrounding his captain before Saturday’s draw against Aston Villa, insisting that he wasn’t worried.
He said: “He signed a long term contract (in July 2018). We are quite relaxed about the situation.
“I have really enjoyed working with Lewis as a footballer and as a person.
“He is really important for us and we are really happy that he is with us.

“January is always a little bit different to every other month if we are being honest.
There is always a lot going on, a lot of talk from you guys (media) questions and interest.
“The window is open so there is more things going on in that regard but that is normal we know that is the case.
“When the window is open there is always more talk other than the football.”
Lewis Dunk could leave Brighton for Chelsea this January
Chelsea had their recent transfer ban reduced by six months allowing them to spend, but haven’t yet added to their first-team squad.
Chairman Bruce Buck did suggest that signings were on the way though with a comment at a recent press conference.
Buck said: “Whoever asked me who we’re signing.
“I do know but I’m not going to tell you.”
