‘Sign him immediately!’ – Chelsea fans demand Roman Abramovich beats Liverpool to £60m transfer

Timo Werner’s outstanding performance for RB Leipzig against Union Berlin has prompted a big reaction from Chelsea fans on Twitter.

The west London outfit have been heavily linked with a move for the striker in the January transfer window and reported last month there was a chance of him leaving despite the Bundesliga side being in title contention and in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Werner has even hinted that he would like to play in the Premier League one day.

“The Premier League is certainly the most interesting league, you have to say. There is a certain flair to watching the English league and playing there,” he told Bild.

“But many Germans have also been very successful in Spain, such as Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil.”

However, it’s unlikely that Werner will be on the move this month

“As of now I have no desire to look for a move elsewhere,” he added.

Werner did not allow speculation surrounding his future to affect him as he inspired Leipzig to a comeback victory over Union Berlin on Saturday evening as he netted twice.

It’s now 20 Bundesliga goals for the striker this season and judging by the Blues’ struggles against Newcastle United, they could do with his prowess in front of goal.

Although, the Blues are set to face strong competition from Liverpool for Werner’s signature.

The Daily Mirror claim that Jurgen Klopp is a long-time admirer of the 23-year-old and the Reds are interested in a £60m transfer.

Judging by the response of some Blues fans on Twitter, this is a transfer they do not want to miss out on.
