Some Chelsea fans full of theories about Chilwell transfer » Chelsea News

Leicester are playing out the final stages of their game against Burnley right now, losing 2-1 to the Clarets in a somewhat surprising result.

If it stays that way it’s a great result for Chelsea, who seem unable to lose much ground on their Champions League rivals no matter how badly they play. It certainly wasn’t a result that was widely expected.

Another surprise came a couple of hours ago, before kickoff, when the teams were announced. Leicester left back Ben Chilwell, who has been linked with Chelsea repeatedly in the last year or so, was on the bench.

He’s been poor recently, and we can only assume this just him being rested to try and recover the early season form that made him such an admired asset.

But that didn’t stop plenty of Chelsea fan on social media speculating that he was being left out because the Blues are about to buy him, although there were also Leicester fans on hand to insist it was just a rest:

Love it but no way is he coming in January

Didn’t have a full week training so was rested apparently.

Someone has, there’s no way he’s completely out the team for “rest”, this sounds like a deal has been almost done.

Chilwell dropped for Fuchs…Genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if we now put a bid in for him.
