Moussa Dembele to Chelsea latest: Contract ‘agreed’, £17m deal, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admission

Moussa Dembele has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, with the Lyon striker reportedly a target for the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

And with 14 goals for the Ligue 1 side already this season, he would be a good signing for any of the top teams.

Lyon release statement

Amid the speculation surrounding their player, Lyon have made a move to send a hands-off warning to any club who may be showing an interest.

A statement released by the club read: “Olympique Lyonnais has taken note of certain information relayed by the media suggesting that Moussa Dembele could interest other clubs during this transfer window.

“OL would like to reaffirm its wish, as in the summer of 2019, to keep Moussa Dembele.

“The club has full confidence in Moussa and counts in particular on him to build a successful team for the seasons to come.”

Although, there was one previous saga where the club were confident of keeping a player, just one week before selling him.

£34 million bid ‘rejected’

According to Sky Sports News , Lyon have rejected an offer of around £34 million from Chelsea for the striker, as they search for competition for Tammy Abraham.

The report claims that the Blues are willing to pay up to €40 million (£34 million), but Lyon are determined to keep hold of their man, meaning Chelsea will have to up their offer.

Arsenal and Spurs links

It is not just Chelsea that Dembele has been linked with, with Arsenal and Tottenham also previously being credited with having an interest in the Frenchman. le10sport claimed that Arsenal has targeted the striker as one of their top targets in January, while Tottenham were linked with the striker in the summer.
