Timo Werner ‘would prefer’ Liverpool transfer over Chelsea to play for Jurgen Klopp

Timo Werner has made it clear to RB Leipzig that he wants to play for Liverpool for the chance to work under Jurgen Klopp .

That will come as a major blow to Chelsea , as well as Manchester United, who were hoping to snap up the striker.

The 23-year-old has been in simply stunning form this season, scoring 20 Bundesliga goals in 18 appearances.

It has propelled RB Leipzig to the top of the table and a league title is now being eyed by Julian Nagelsmann.

But speculation has been rife over Werner’s future, with a number of top clubs eyeing the forward.
