Barcelona are reportedly keeping an eye on Chelsea star Olivier Giroud in case their transfer move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is rebuffed by Arsenal .
Spanish reports have suggested that Barcelona are lining up a move for Aubameyang with Luis Suarez currently out injured.
Speculation over Aubameyang’s future at the Emirates has been rife, however, the forward is a key part of Arsenal having scored 57 goals since making the move to London.
It could mean that Arsenal give Barcelona a firm no should the Catalan giants come calling during this transfer window.
And Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claim that Barcelona do have a plan should that be the case.
It’s reported that Chelsea outcast Olivier Giroud is a potential option with the Frenchman’s future at Stamford Bridge in doubt.
Giroud has fallen down the pecking order under Frank Lampard with Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi ahead of him in the attacking ranks.
And Mundo Deportivo claim that Giroud is seen as a cheap, but experienced, alternative should Barcelona’s move for Aubameyang not go through.

Fernando Llorente is also a potential option for Barca, but Giroud would be available on a free in the summer with his Stamford Bridge contract winding down.
Inter Milan have also been strongly linked with a move for the 33-year-old but Chelsea assistant Jody Morris recently opening up on the striker’s future.
Morris said: “We can’t just let people walk out the door if that means we’re left short somewhere.
