Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has come in for some stiff criticism after his performance in the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Arsenal , with ESPN pundit Steve Nicol claiming his displays mean Frank Lampard needs to sign a striker this month.
The draw with the Gunners was a particular source of frustration for Chelsea fans, given Arsenal had been reduced to ten men in the 26th minute when David Luiz was sent off.
Unsurprisingly, the red card meant Lampard’s side dominated the game, having 19 shots in total to Arsenal’s two, but once again they were unable to turn that dominance into a win.

It has become a familiar theme for fans, with Chelsea having 19 shots to Newcastle ’s seven last weekend but still losing 1-0 to a late Isaac Hayden winner.
Hudson-Odoi in particular has struggled to contribute goals and assists since returning from a long-term Achilles problem, providing just two Premier League goal contributions in the Blues’ last 15 games
As a result, Nicol believes it is imperative that they bring in another goalscorer, telling ESPN FC: “They need a centre-forward.
