Chelsea have made a loan bid to PSG for Edinson Cavani as they refuse to give up on landing the striker this month.
Cavani has handed in a transfer request at the Parc des Princes and wants to join Atletico Madrid.
Starsport understands he has given his word to Atletico and has already agreed terms with the La Liga giants.
However, a deal between the Spanish side and PSG has not yet been reached, and the Blues are doing all they can to remain in the mix.
According to The Times, an offer has been put forward to the Ligue 1 champions which would see them pay a loan fee of £5m.
Even though Cavani would only spend six months at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea would be willing to pay in excess of £12m.
That is down to the fact the prolific 32-year-old has wages of £360,000-a-week, which the Blues would pay in full.
Cavani’s contract in Paris expires at the end of this season, so he is free to talk to clubs across Europe.

The Uruguay international wants an 18-month deal in Madrid, whereas Chelsea’s bid would leave him as a free agent come this summer.
The Times add PSG have indicated they now want to sell Cavani but are demanding a transfer fee of £23m.
