Edinson Cavani’s dad makes statement on son’s Man Utd and Chelsea transfer links

Edinson Cavani’s father, Luis, has made clear he hopes to see his son move to Atletico Madrid from PSG this month.

The Uruguayan goalscorer has handed in a transfer request at the Parc des Princes, which alerted a host of top European clubs.

Chelsea and Manchester United would love to lure the prolific 32-year-old to the Premier League.

Both could offer him the game time he desires and top level football, however, Atletico are frontrunners.

Cavani’s father has made it clear a switch to Spain is his preference for his son with nine days remaining of the January transfer window.

“I think there is a strong chance he will go to Atletico, the option to join the club (Atletico) always remains in June.
