Chelsea have held a ‘secret transfer meeting’ with Real Madrid ace Isco, it has been claimed.
Stamford Bridge chiefs are desperate to add the Spain international to Frank Lampard’s squad in the summer transfer window, according to El Desmarque.
The Premier League outfit have reportedly already made arrangements to ease Isco’s transition to life in England by sorting out a house for him.
Isco has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu for a number of months amid a mixed first half to the campaign.
The 27-year-old has managed just 10 starts in all competitions since the start of the season prompting speculation he could be on the move sooner rather than later.
He has enjoyed a return to form in recent weeks, however, with a goalscoring display in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final win over Valencia drawing praise from Zinedine Zidane.
The Real Madrid boss is reportedly concerned by the prospect of Isco leaving the Spanish capital club.
El Desmarque claim an announcement on Isco’s future will be delayed until after Euro 2020, however, out of respect for Los Blancos.
Meanwhile, Starsport understands Chelsea look set to fail with a loan bid for Edinson Cavani and are already scouring the market for alternatives.
The Blues have offered £5m to land the unsettled Paris Saint-Germain striker Cavani, whose mammoth £360,000 wages they have pledged to cover in full.
The 32-year-old is understood to prefer a switch to Atletico Madrid and has already agreed terms on a contract with Diego Simeone’s team.
