Frank Lampard has admitted Boubakary Soumare is not a target for Chelsea in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old Lille midfielder is wanted by a host of clubs after an impressive campaign for the Ligue 1 outfit, who has seen him make 25 appearances in all competitions.
He was linked with a move to Chelsea after impressing against the Blues in the Champions League.
But Lampard has confirmed that Soumare will not be moving to Stamford Bridge before Friday’s transfer deadline.
“I’m aware of him as a player, but he is not on our radar for this window,” Lampard said.
“We played against him, but he is not one on the immediate radar. He is a good player, but he is another club’s player.”
Liverpool have entered the race for Soumare’s signature as Jurgen Klopp looks to upgrade his midfield options.
While Premier League rivals Manchester United have also been keeping tabs on the France Under-21’s progress, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking for a new man in the engine room.
Lille are desperate to retain Soumare’s services in their bid to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

“No-one’s told me anything about his situation, maybe it won’t. I don’t know.
